Our Story
Catalyst 4 Change Inc. stands out as an organization with a mission that extends beyond conventional limits. Founded in Philadelphia in 2024 by Zech McPhearson, we are dedicated to addressing a wide array of needs across diverse communities. Zech envisioned an organization that did not limit its focus to a single cause, but instead embraced a variety of challenges to drive greater change and make a significant difference. Our journey of growth and outreach has been guided by this vision, allowing us to extend our support across various regions.
Guided by our values of compassion, inclusivity, and collaboration, Catalyst 4 Change works to continue expanding its reach. As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering positive community transformation, as well as empowering diverse groups to achieve their full potential.
Our Founder
Zech McPhearson, the driving force behind Catalyst 4 Change, brings a lifetime of passion for service and community engagement. Born and raised in Maryland as one of eight children to Gerrick and Kim McPhearson, Zech’s childhood was built upon a culture of community service and active participation in church activities.
From a young age, Zech discovered his love for sports, starting with hockey and baseball before later discovering football in his youth. His involvement in sports taught him discipline, teamwork, and the importance of a strong community network at a young age. A graduate of Riverdale Baptist High School, McPhearson earned a football scholarship to Penn State University, where he not only excelled in sports, but also embraced his role as a community leader. After graduating in 2019, he furthered his education and football career at Texas Tech University, earning a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
With community service integral to his upbringing, McPhearson’s parents raised him and his siblings to actively participate in church and serve the local community. His mother, Kim, frequently organized charity events and food drives, which left a lasting impression on him.
Inspired by his upbringing and educational experiences, McPhearson founded Catalyst 4 Change. With a deep understanding of the power of community and a platform to influence, McPhearson is committed to leveraging his resources and network to foster significant societal improvements and recognizes how this platform can create positive changes for many lives. Drawing on his positivity, knowledge, and past experiences, McPhearson dedicates himself to make a difference through his own nonprofit organization.
